Several members of the RadioShack team will be attending Maker Faire Bay Area this weekend and we could not be more thrilled! If this is your first time going or if you have never even heard of Maker Faire, it is essentially a BIG showcase of cool, creative technology projects from the maker/DIY community. 3D printers are continually making a bigger and bigger splash and you might just see a few robots walking around.
Inventors come from all around to attend one of the biggest Maker Faires in the San Francisco Bay Area. They come to share their work, learn from other inventors and really just celebrate the awesomeness of being a inventors! This year, just like several years in the past, RadioShack will be in attendance hosting the Learn to Solder booth. We have a long and loyal history with the Maker community and love joining the fun by teaching kids (and adults) of all ages the skill of soldering.
Along with soldering we will be providing a FREE charging station, made from old PO BOXES. Just like at the Maker Faire we attend in New York, these things are always a big hit. With two stations located on-site, we will lock your phone up (all chargers provided!) and allow you to continue to enjoy the festivities while your phone is getting powered up. Also, Joe Magnacca, the RadioShack CEO, will be speaking along with Dale Dougherty, the founder, President & CEO of Maker Media, Inc.
We continue to enjoy being a part of both the Bay Area and New York Maker Faire and we greatly respect the Makers and everything they are working to achieve. We would love to hear from you on any thoughts you have for us! Be sure to leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
