Huawei Ascend W1

Huawei Ascend W1 at 2013 CES

While smartphones certainly weren’t the highlight of the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV last week, that didn’t stop a few companies, such as Huawei, from announcing some. One of the new phones that Huawei announced was the Ascend W1, which is a Windows Phone 8-powered device. It sports a 4-inch touchscreen display with all the usual extras you’ll find with Windows Phone, such as a dual-core processor and that slick tile-based homescreen. Huawei’s representatives told us this phone should be available in the U.S. later this year, but weren’t able to tell us a carrier or any pricing details.

We’ll be uploading more videos throughout the show, straight from the floor, so you’ll want to make sure you come back to techspecs often to stay up to speed. You can also follow us on Twitter at @RadioShack, and we’ll be posting photos from the show floor on RadioShack’s Instagram account, as well.
