Halloween Party Must-Haves

It’s that time of year again! When the streets are lined with ghosts and goblins and kids are allowed  to devour pounds of candy. It is also the one time of the year where you get to dress up as your favorite character!  Whether you are going with the classic Marilyn Monroe or zombie, or something more socially relevant like Honey Boo Boo or Angry Birds, we want to make sure you have everything you need to have one SPOOKY Halloween.

What would Halloween be without the Monster Mash playing while the neighborhood kids skip up to the door for some trick-or-treating?  This stone speaker from Terra-Forms will blend right in with all your other decorations and its weather proof design will insure that no matter what the weather is you can still be serenaded by spooky sounds. It also makes a great music player year round for any outdoor barbecues or birthday parties.

If you have not picked out your costume yet for this year, don’t worry! There are endless ideas available for you to choose from. My recommendation is going with something comfortable yet comical. This is your one chance a year to really go all out and show how creative you can be with what you wear. The best costumes are the ones that really start up a conversation.

Here are some great costume ideas from our friends over at Instructables. We hope you like robots! If you have any costumes ideas that have been successful share them below! We would love to see how creative and comical you can be!

Now that you have your costume ready to mesmerize the world, now get your home ready in its Halloweens best! A fog machine can really turn any regular old house into a haunted house. You will have the coolest haunted house in the neighborhood.

For those of you that might be staying in this year instead of hitting the streets for some trick-or-treating, make sure you have some great music to entertain your guests.  This mobile DJ Party Rocker from ION allows you to take the party anywhere using dual iPod/iPhone docks. Your friends will love to mix between devices with DJ-style crossfader.

If you don’t have a way to play music, check out the Apple 32GB iPod touch! This device give you plenty of room to store all your favorite songs as well as games and apps! You can also use it to snap picture of all your family and friends dressed up in their costumes.

Also, don’t forget the RadioShack Halloween Great Create Challenge – we are challenging YOU to a bit of friendly competition.  We want to see your creepiest-crawliest Halloween project that you can come up with using RadioShack parts. You have until October 31st to submit your projects with photos and videos to the Great Create website for your chance to win a $250 RadioShack gift card! For rules and guidelines check out our Halloween Great Create Challenge blog post!

I think a great costume would be Mitt Romney’s dog. For this costume, dress your body from the neck down as a car. For your head, get a cage like box and paint your face like a dog.

I think a great costume idea would be a RadioShack employee. Why? Because they are so cool :)

You have a DIY ad/article in the October 2012 issue of Popular Mechanics titles “Got Lights? Learn how to make lights shimmer with an Arduino” I want to look at the project at your site but can’t find it. As usual, you give QR code to link to the article but no printed link. I don’t have a smart phone to take advantage of the code. Could start printing the link in your ads and also email me a link now?

    Thanks
