SXSW Day Four Recap

This is post 5 of 8 in the SXSW 2012 series

The city of Austin has again been a great host for SXSW 2012. Once the rain came to an end and the sun came out, all of those associated with this great event, from attendees to street vendors to pedi-cab drivers, took to the streets to enjoy what Austin has to offer.  A major part of SXSW goes on after the sessions have ended.  It is all about networking, as well as the exchanging of thoughts and ideas with people from across the world.

SXSW

Connecting is the word that best describes SXSW.  It is all about connecting, not only in person, but also throughout the online space. Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram have been essential to that process.

Twitter, first and foremost, has been the number one tool for keeping in touch with where the best events are located, how to take advantage of specials deals, and last minute event invites. While Facebook has allowed me to share thoughts and ideas with friends back home and around my network, Instagram has been the perfect complement, allowing me to enhance the Facebook experience by not only sharing pictures with friends and family, but also adjusting them directly from my smartphone.

SXSW

Today is the last day of SXSW Interactive and while I am sad to see it come to an end, I am ready to get back to work and put some of the things that I have learned and experienced to practical use. There are a lot of great connections that I have made that will be beneficial in moving forward and helping make the interactive experience a useful tool for people in their everyday lives.  Through SXSW, valuable global relationships are formed that tie us all together in a positive way.

What are some apps that you use to stay connected with friends and family? Leave your comment below  and we will pick two random comments to get a great prize!
