Top 5 Sports Apps

Summer is finally winding down, and now it’s time for our favorite season of the year. Most people simply call it “Fall,” but to us, it’s the “season of sports”. OK, so maybe we need to work on the name a little bit. But think about it, within a couple months, you have the MLB postseason, as well as the NFL, NBA and NHL all kicking, tipping and facing off, respectively. In honor of this sportstastic season, here’s a list of some of our favorite sporty apps.

Bike Repair

You’re a fan of Team RadioShack  , right? Seriously, how could you not be? They’re awesome! Whether you’re a pro cyclist or just like to take the two-wheeler out for a ride around the lake, you need the Bike Repair app. It’s like a phonebook-sized Mr. Fixit bike manual somehow squeezed itself inside your smartphone. The app features 200 studio-quality photos explaining step-by-step instructions for specific situations, from the simplest to the most complex problems.

Fantasy Monster Pro

If you’re like us, you draft a fantasy team or three for just about every sport around. The problem is, it’s tough to find the time to manage them all, what with work and other “important” commitments always getting in the way. Well, say hello to your new best bud, the Fantasy Monster Pro. We love this app. It lets us add and drop players from our ESPN and Yahoo! teams, check injuries and even keep up with live game scores while on the go. Of course, now we never have an excuse for forgetting to drop that QB with a bum shoulder from our active squad.

Golfshot: Golf GPS

Did you ever notice all the “fours” associated with golf? You usually play in a foursome. Playing 18 holes can take FORever. And when you play with us, you’re sure to hear, “Fore!” quite a bit. Oh, and when you do, make sure you duck…quickly! Actually, our game has improved quite a bit thanks to the Golfshot: Golf GPS app. It’s like a personal caddy in our pocket with a brain full of 37,000 course layouts, pin distances and a handicap calculator. Now if we could only get it to putt for us.

MLB.com At Bat 11

Some might say the baseball season is almost over, but considering we’re about to hit the postseason, we think it’s just getting started. Thanks to the MLB.com At Bat 11 app, we can watch every “at bat” from all our favorite teams, no matter where they play. We also love that we can listen to all the home broadcasts, from Vin Scully in LA to “Mr. Baseball” himself, Bob Uecker for the Brewers. One piece of advice, be sure to grab a bag of peanuts to round out your experience.
