The Kyocera Echo was announced a few months ago and brings a unique dual-screen experience to Sprint’s Android-powered smartphone lineup. We caught a glimpse of this hinged handset during CTIA, but wanted to put together a better look at how the displays function together.
The Kyocera Echo from Sprint packs two 3.5-inch touchscreen displays and a unique hinge that lets you click the displays together to form a large 4.7-inch display. The phone also features an 5-megapixel camera with HD video capture and a microSD card slot, so you can take plenty of photos and videos to share with your friends. To fully take advantage of the dual displays, Kyocera developed special software that lets the Echo take full advantage of Android’s built-in multitasking capabilities. With the phone open, simply touching both displays at the same time will summon a handy menu, and the user can then select a different application to run on each display. You can see this in action in the video below.
The Kyocera Echo from Sprint is available today at your local RadioShack store, as well as online through RadioShack.com. Don’t forget to bring your old phone with you, so you can take advantage of The Shack’s Trade and Save program, which lets you trade in your old phone for a gift card to use towards the purchase of your new phone.
